Odd Customs

In Salzburg, immediately after the wedding ceremony, the bride and groom leave the church, and head to The Institute to consummate the marriage in front of the entire city council.

There's no legal or religious reason for this, it's just that the Mayor is a filthy bugger.

Little Nicky's Party Picnic

It's the highlight of The Slide's Guy's social calendar. Little Nicky (and Miss Creams) are having a picnic party - AND I'M INVITED!

No idea what's organised, but if there are watermelons and axes involved, I'll be happy.

Subject to A+E and Police visits, I may report back.

Underneath Her Clothes....She's Naked !

It's a slightly horrifying thought, but it's true.

More worrying thoughts later.

The Tour o' da' Toons

With the 2017 Tour de France coming to an end, it's a chance to remember the glory days of the Tour o da' Toons.

Held between 1991 and 2008 (with a break for the swine flu outbreak of 2001), the TodT was a cycle road race around the towns of Huntly, Newmacher, Udny, Echt and Ellon.

This shot shows the eventually winner Calumn Gilhooly (no 604) who appears to have been racing on behalf of  the "Highland Cress Bob" team.

Poverty as Local Colour

From the same set of slides as yesterday's Elephant Safari slide, so I imagine this is the cringe-making "And these were the locals" slide.

Something to show the neighbours, and feel superior over.

Nice.

Tragically, this should be interesting.

but, alas, it's merely mildly interesting.

A close look at the slide, tho painful, suggest that teh subject is (could be?) a bunch of folk setting off on an Elephant Safari.

Or so it appears.

Difficult to believe that junior grew up to be Charlie Sheen.

Because, that's almost certainly a lie.

It's Not Always Sunny In Miami

Ah, the unmistakable Art Deco look of the Miami Beachfront Hotels.

As you see the bikini clad bimbos sometimes have to throw on a light jacket when a light shower happens - but it helps cool down those hot bods.

An occasional series.

So, who recognises this castle?

A clue - it's name is misleading - it's not near the City that the name would suggest.
