Teen Girls Together

I can imagine the hi-jinx these young ladies will get up to on their slumber party.

Or to be precise, I can imagine what Hollywood would portray them as up to. In reality, it could be crosswords, harp-playing and farting competitions.

Bonus - Dandelion clocks. (Kids are stupid.)

Photo Fun - Cameras Loaned Free

Seems like a century ago. Try and explain to modern kids the palaver of  cemers, film, d+P, and suchlike. Digital Photography has made life too easy.

Nice to see the classic Instamatic 104 being offered.

Bonus - police investigating after 11 female mannequins stolen from boutiques

Wanna Buy A Cookie

Somebody's happy to be a Girl Scout.

I suppose I should make some highly inappropriate comment at this point, but I'm in a restrained mood tonight.

All the Thrills of Basketball

... are missing from this slide.

One of my least favourite sports, and this tragically dull slide is unlikely to change that.

Bonus - Disgusting Health

Bonus 2 - I suspect that you need to be of a certain age to get this.  CFB

Dramatic Skies

So it's not just me.

Some of my best pictures were taken in adverse weather conditions, and it appears that the same is true of vintage slides.

So, ignore the old "bright sun, from behind you", and just get out there and experiment.

Bonus -
"I have made some poor life choices."

Sunday 24 July 2016

Junior Street Puppetry

Title says it all.

Which is good as there's no other info on the slide. From the fashions, I'd estimate early 1950's. Plus or minus 35 years.

Bonus - The Fermi paradox , named after Enrico Fermi, is the apparent contradiction between the lack of evidence and high probability estimates, for the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations

Bonus 2 - CFB

For a change, some details on this one.

Proof that checked shirts and jeans are a timeless, unisex classic.

Bonus - Enjoy that fresh apple.

Bonus - Not required today, A Grave Warmer

The Rolls-Royce of Number Plates

Looks like a mayoral car, and yes...I can confirm that this number was the trademark of Bright and Hove's Mayor.

But, it probably is no longer, having been sold.

My guess is that it's now Cameron Diaz's. Or maybe Charlie Drake.

Bonus - Picture of the day. Donald Trump during Ted Cruz's RNC speech where he didn't endorse DT for President.

The Dancing Girls

The highlight of any floor show - the arrival of the dancing girls.

Depending upon the audience, they could be tastefully and fuul clothed, or ... well. You can imagine.

Bonus - I escaped from Auschwitz

You will have seen plenty "Wee Haz Fishes" slides on this blog, so it's a joy to bring you a commercial variation on that tired old theme.

They Haz Fishes.

Bonus - Firefighters advise against barbecuing brisket in bathtubs

Anatomy of a Splenorenal Shunt

I was looking for an apt slide to use today. Something appropriate to the UK gaining a new PM (and second ever female PM.)

But, I couldn't.

So, have a picture of a Splenorenal Shunt procedure.

Bonus

All-together .... Wait for it ...   AAAARRRGGGHHH!

Bonus (nice) - For no particular reason....Catwoman

The Persistence of Lavender

I had a revelation.

With the trends on modern art (as far as I'm aware, these aren't rubbish slides. They're Outsider Art.

I should trumpet their contemplative nature, and their rejection of contemporary qualities...like focus, exposure or composition. Celebrate the truly inept, sorry, truly INSPIRED>

Who will give me £3,700 for this slide entitled "The Persistence of Lavender" ??

Bonus - A particularly unpleasant way to die. The Wheel.
Bonus 2 - No Brainer.  A civil servant missing most of his brain challenges our most basic theories of consciousness

Monday 11 July 2016

Sunday 10 July 2016

Bonus - It's just a matter of your viewpoint (Poss NSFK)

Friday 8 July 2016

When Giants Bestrode The Earth....

...or perhaps this is a view of Liliput. No-one knows.

Not me, not you.
Not your mom.
Not even that "Uncle" Humberto.

No-one.

Well, maybe David Attenborough. He knows everything.

Impressive Gateway

Back  to some classic architecture today.

No info, and I was tempted to say Edinburgh, but some world class Googling reveals that it's Chester Abbey.

You're welcome.

Bonus - Sand Dune catching the morning light

Bonus 2 - In 2002, Robert De Niro stopped caring about the craft.

Wednesday 6 July 2016

A Gentler Pace

I bet the Stig would struggle to do a Hot Lap round the Top Gear course in less that 2 hours in this.

Lively cobbles, by the way.

Bonus - Cracking Tune

Tuesday 5 July 2016

Astonishing !

Someone's managed to take a tedious slide of the Great Pyramid at Giza.

Or, I assume it's the great pyramid. Could be a black triangle of paper.

Bonus - Was there really a virgin birth in the Bible?

Monday 4 July 2016

Crystal Chandelier

Some may thinks this should be a Tedious Tuesday, but not me.

I like this.

And this is my blog, so it's staying.

I wouldn't have it in my house, tho'.

Bonus - For Independence Day...
I don't think I've seen anything more American than this.

Bonus 2 - Tho' I suppose this come close.  Virginia introduces law to stop 12-year-old girls from getting married

Sunday 3 July 2016

My New Chum - The Sculptor

Marjory seems very happy to have tracked down this objet d'art while on holiday, and insisted on posing with the creator. He's a little more wary of this matronly sugar-mommy. And looking at the sculpture, maybe there's something more that he's after. Filthy bugger.

Bonus - 0.0% of Icelanders 25 years or younger believe God created the world, new poll reveals

From and educational set of slides, names "Shapes in Nature", here's ... well, a twelve-armed starfish.

Possibly a Rose Sea Star, Crossaster papposus

Bonus - Local Knowledge
