The Tedious Tuesday slide is not just a chance to wheel out slides of boring hackneyed subjects. Oh No. Not Always at least.
It's a chance to see slides of subject that escaped the classically trained photographer's eye. Like this slide from 1975 of the excitement of the Illinois State Lottery. There just aren't many pictures of the 1975 Illinois State Lottery.

By Jove, they're dull. Spanish palaces and suchlike. This is one of the more interesting. Yeah, that dull.
The wording on the slide suggests it's by Alexander Cabanel - Nymph and Satyr

In these days of every bedroom having a 43-inch plasma screen television, it's nice to be reminded of the times when a 24-inch CRT TV was the height of technology. And yet, people still disguised them as a cupboard or sideboard.

In Maynard County, there is the strange local belief in "The Resurrection Trout".
Ever fisherman in the county attends morning service then heads off fishing until sundown. All Thornhead Trout are returned to the water, after notching the tail with a knife.
On Easter Sunday, church then fishing. Anyone who catches a notched trout (the "Resurrection Trout") will be blessed with good fortune for the following year.
Here. Maisie Henson proudly displays her Resurrection Trout for 1966.

It's not often that the two cities are confused, but I can assure you that this is the Bridge of Sighs (Oxford) and not the Bridge of Sighs (Venice) or even the Bridge of Sighs (Cambridge).

For slide number 2100, I thought we needed something special, so how about Melody, the world's most disgruntled swimsuit model.
From the box of Hollings Fashion Shows slides, I suspect that is one of those backstage favours for the University Photography Club.

Those wacky Americans seem to take photo's of almost anything. I can almost imagine young Hank Washington regaling the neighbours with his tales of his trip to France. "...and this here is what they call a Bee-Day. I didn't know what it was for..."
